Eliano Fantuzzi (Modena 1909 – Verona 1987) grew up in Verona and trained at the Accademia Cignaroli. In 1924 he moved to Paris, where he worked for about fifteen years; when the war broke out he joined the French army, and in 1943 he returned to Italy, later settling in Rome. He took part in the Rome Quadriennale of 1947 and the Venice Biennale in the 1950s, and around 1950 he painted frescoes in the royal palace at Taif, Saudi Arabia. Night scenes were his favourite subject.
